This was a really fun project to work on, the site was a challenge though as it was a long narrow unit over 2 floors, half of which were staircases.
We wanted a “factory” industrial yet decorative look for this bar, it was based loosely around a 1950's /60's depot, with lots of reclaimed heavy pipework, rusted and naked steel with rough cut timber. Our starting point was the logo which has echoes of Soviet propaganda, the artworks, detailing and murals all had a ironic revolutionary nod included. We even had table tops for the “Smoke House” (-smoking area) made into old cigarette brand packet covers of the era.
